Bread Tasting

In Reception we have been tasting different breads from around the world and guessing which one it could be.
Come and tell us what your favourite bread is and which country it comes from originally.

One less

On Friday we took our maths lesson outside. We wrote the answers to one less than a given number on the ground with chalks. This was so much fun.
Test your grown up and see if they know one less than any number you choose!

Halving

In our maths lessons we learnt about halving different amounts. One of our problems was to half the number of cakes on our plate to share with a friend.
Do you know a half of 10 cakes?
There were four children at a swimming pool but only half could swim. How many could not swim?
Let me know.

Chinese New Year

As part of our topic about fairy tales we looked at the Chinese New Year Traditional Tale – The Race.
The children loved this story and have been involved in a range of activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Ask your child about this story and you will be amazed with the events and characters they remember from this story.
On a sad note Miss Knowles finished her student placement with us last Friday. To end the topic she very kindly brought the class prawn crackers and spring rolls to taste. Come and have a look.

Dough Disco

Come and see our Dough Disco. Miss Knowles gave us all a ball of playdough in our hands and with the music we squeezed, squashed, patted and poked it.
What did you think of it? Come and let us know.

North Pole Party

Now that Reception has finished their Christmas production it was time to relax and have fun. What better way than a party at the North Pole! We watched the famous ‘Snowman’ story and painted snowmen.
We pretended to be snowmen and had cold drinks with Christmas tree shaped ice cubes and shortbread. We decided that as snowmen if we had a hot drink we would melt just like the snowman in the story. As snowmen we danced with the penguins from ‘Happy Feet’ and had so much fun. Come and see. Leave a comment.
